Doing the Work to Get Over Fear of Flying

I turned on the Oprah show today just in time to see Oprah's fitness guru Bob Greene appearing on the stage with six overweight people. They were discussing exercise, and Bob Greene observed that some of them didn't appear to be very motivated while working out.  They agreed. Then he said, "If you want to lose weight, you have to be willing to do the work."  Oprah then added that she hates every minute of "doing the work" while exercising, but she's happy once it's over and feels so much better.

It's A Small World After All (If You Fly)

I had one of those "it's a small world" moments the other day when I was checking our website orders.   A visitor to our website noted on her Fearless FlightKit order form that she had heard about the Kit in Jack Canfield's book The Success Principles.

If I'm Over My Fear of Flying, Can I Bring My Curling Iron?

Ever play the alphabet travel game?  It goes like this:  I'm going to Alaska and bringing my abacus, my beachball, and my curling iron.  Each person repeats the list and adds another item and so on down the alphabet.   Ever played the TSA version of this game?

Kyla Ebbert, the 23-year-old college student who was confronted about her sexy clothing on a recent SW Airlines flight, may have developed a fear of flying on Southwest. Italian Taxi Drivers Aren't Pilots!

In less than 24 hours, I escaped from cactus in Phoenix and its 100 degree September steaminess to the Piazza de Novona here in picturesque Rome.  I have modern jet travel to thank for whisking me away to this Italian adventure.

Fear of Flying or Fear of Lost Luggage?

According to travel writer Peter Greenberg, arriving at your destination with your luggage isn't very likely.  Recently on the Today show, he told Matt Mauer that a traveler is two times as likely today to lose their luggage when flying than they were two years ago.   Consider those odds.

Top Ten Things to Worry About Besides Fear of Flying

Once you're over your fear of flying, your trips can be like the kind former fearful flyer Rochell just emailed me about.  Rochell just flew from Syndry to Hong Kong, her first overseas flight in 8 years!  "Am pleased to report that I had the best experience ever! I was even able to enjoy my holiday and not be filled with dread at the thought of having to get on a plane to return home. YAY!"

Just How Scared to Fly Are You?

People tell us their fear of flying horror stories all the time.  Many times a fearful flyer will email us for help, thinking that they have the worst fear of flying case out there.  Maybe they haven’t flown in 20 years.  Or they bolted from a plane flying to their honeymoon just before the door closed.  Or they drove right past the airport and their flight, continuing to drive to all the way to their destination.  Maybe your horror story is unlike any we’ve heard before.
