Over spring break will be my first time to fly, and WITHOUT my PARENTS!!! I am so scared and I think the Take off and Landing will be the worst!!! LOL As long as we dont fly into a thunderstorm like my parent did on the way to Cozomel!!
Yes, it will be a challenge for you, but I have to correct something that you said. Capt. Ron always reminds people that planes never fly INTO thunderstorms. Pilots always do their very best to fly AROUND thunderstorms. That's because of the magic of radar...the same kind that you see on your local TV news. Sounds like you need to get yourself a Fearless FlightKit so you can have the power of distraction when you're flying by yourself.
Seriously I am just a mess about the whole thing...If someone looks at me wrong or we hit turbulence...I just plain hate flying...Just when I think I am getting better at it...ugh...I think it must be a control thing...
Yes...you are absolutely right. For most people it is a control thing. That's why they feel better driving some place (and being in control) than flying. Please know that it's a process with a few steps forward and a few steps backward. The most important thing is that you keep flying and eventually it WILL get better!
take-off is scariest.idk why tho. once i'm in the sky i'm not scared anymore because i know there's nothing i can do now but sit back and relax or sit back and be scared.i mean if im scared are they really going to turn the plane around.so take-off is the scariest and only scary part.but being in the plane is kind of scary to because i hope i wont have to use the bathroom because they're so tiny and i'm extremely clostrophobic in elevators and anything smaller. when i first experienced turbulance i thought we were about to crash because i've been on a plane plenty of times b4 and nothing ever shook.but thank goodness a guy sitting next to me told me what was going on.he saw the freak out expression on my face.lmao ~14 y/o girl
I think it's the whole no control thing! I fly everywhere for my chosen profession, (model) and I hate it every single time. I ride streetbikes, dirtbikes, AtV's 4 wheelers and I race cars on and off the track all in my spare time, and I do this stuff for fun, but I can't stand to fly!
A large portion of my fears stem from the people who hold my life in their hands. I'm not talking about the pilots. I have the utmost confidence in them. I speak of the workers on the ground fueling and checking the plane before we leave the terminal. Many times I have watched these workers and thought "Where did they hire these people? The local prison parking lot?". Aside from how they look, I know most of them are getting paid $8-10/hr. Most people nowadays have a poor work ethic anyway but when they are also getting paid so little...recipe for disaster.
the people on the ground not doing their job correctly cos they are paid less and couldn't care less about the people on the flight scares me the mmmmmmosssssssttttttt :-(
Very nervous about upcoming flight on China air. China Air had experience on 9/20 with clear turbulence--plane dropped 10,000 feet. This is the same flight I will fly from Taipei to Bali
nothing!!! i love to fly.
i was in a plane crash. Me and my daddy were flying in his ultralight, a little two seater, and we had an engine out. we were not hurt but the left wing was broken in half and the front tire came off and tore part of the front off. i did go flying after daddy fixed everything.
some may say i am crazy but its just like getting back on the horse. daddy had to sell the plane but i would love to go flying any time!! i miss it.

Hmm...I'm thinking that maybe the person who commented about the drive to and from the airport being scary isn't a fearful flyer. He or she is so right, but you'll never convince a fearful flyer that the odds of a car crash are far greater than a plane crash. At fearlessflight.com we understand how a fearful flyer thinks and feels. We get it and we help people get over it!
I wish that pilots would communicate more with the passengers. For example, that they would explain the turbulence and how long it will likely last. Also I often find that when they say turbulence is coming and to fasten one's seatbelt, that turbulence tunrs out not to be as bad as the turbulence they don't notify you of.
I could not agree more!
I wish somebody told them about it.
It makes me so much more reassured to hear the person in whose hands I am, to have some kind of contact, to be explained what happens - it seems I am not the only one
the most fearful thoughts are about the genius' who architect and construct airplanes. they are working with limited information. the info is available. they won't be able to find it until their approach is changed by formulating a change in their minds for asking new questions so new answers will be available to them. don't be outside the knowledge-be the knowledge. just ask to be. ask and knock very loudly.
ALL OF IT???

Lousy work ethic...

What's the scariest part of flying?
The drive to and from the airport!
The Drive to and From the Airport?
